Sage Parts appoints Elgan Brooks as Manager of the company’s new GSE Services division
Farmingdale, New York, April 22, 2004 – Sage Parts, the world’s leading supplier of replacement parts for aircraft ground support equipment (GSE), has announced the appointment of Elgan Brooks as Manager of the company’s newly formed GSE Services business unit. Mr. Brooks will assume responsibility for rolling out and managing the new business, which has been created to complement Sage’s industry positioning as a complete source for virtually all kinds of GSE parts.
“The establishment of Sage Parts GSE Services is a natural progression for Sage as a company, enabling us to become truly a one-stop shop for any and all needs that GSE operators may have...from providing replacement parts to a comprehensive offering of equipment service and support solutions,” said Michael Bloomfield, Sage Executive Vice President. “With his vast experience in many aspects of the GSE industry, Elgan Brooks will be vital in both implementing our new GSE Services division and in recognizing as well as responding to the unique service needs of the GSE marketplace.”
Sage maintains a $10 million+ inventory of ready-to-ship replacement parts for ground support equipment. Through Sage Parts GSE Services, the company will now enhance its abilities to address the needs of customers on a total level that goes well beyond supplying parts, delivering an entire and highly agile range of technically experienced GSE consulting services that include on-site rebuilds, equipment extended-life programs, field kit installations, accident damage repair, maintenance training, equipment inspections, and many other diverse services.
Prior to joining Sage Parts, Mr. Brooks had held several key positions at GSE-related companies. Included in his extensive experience within the industry is 18 years with FMC Technologies/Airport Systems Division, where he started-up that company’s service business department and was instrumental in growing the business to more than a million dollars in gross revenues within just 20 months. “Elgan Brooks has 23 years of broad-based direct GSE and fleet service background,” said Mark Pollack, Sage President and CEO. “His thorough knowledge of this industry from a number of standpoints will be critically important to Sage Parts in the start-up of our new GSE Services business unit...and at the same time, Elgan’s commitment to quality and to time-sensitive customer service will become crucial assets to Sage’s customers in running their businesses more productively and more cost-efficiently on a day to day basis.”
Sage Parts supplies virtually all types of replacement parts for ground support equipment. The company operates GSE parts warehousing and shipping facilities at its Farmingdale headquarters, at New York’s two largest airports (JFK and LGA), and at other airports located in key markets throughout North America, including Atlanta (ATL), Chicago (ORD), Dallas (DFW), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Puerto Rico (SJU), St. Louis (STL), Washington, D.C. (IAD). Sage also has a warehouse and customer service center in Castroville, California.
Sage utilizes an advanced computer database which catalogs all of the company’s GSE parts electronically for instant cross-referencing – allowing parts to be shipped from the nearest Sage warehouse within moments of a customer’s request. The company also offers “eSage,” the Sage Parts interactive e-commerce site. Using a standard web browser, customers can log onto eSage and search parts by number, view photos and descriptions of parts, place orders, check order status and many other functions. The eSage system is linked directly to Sage’s entire network of warehousing and distribution facilities, making customer order processing exceptionally convenient while also helping to speed delivery.
