Keep your cool.

Finally, it’s cool to be in the baggage hold…Now baggage handlers can feel cool and stay cool even in extreme heat conditions. RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ is a special section of ducting designed to divert some air from the PCA unit and direct it into the baggage hold. RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ is easy to install and even easier to use.

Beat the heat, no matter how hot.

Compared to the ambient ramp temperature, the temperature inside the baggage hold is much warmer. On a hot day, the temperature rise in the baggage hold can be unbearable. RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ ducting delivers a regulated amount of Pre-Conditioned Air to the baggage hold by utilizing a small amount of air from the PCA delivery system. Not to worry, the amount of air diverted for this purpose does not impact the aircraft cooling process in any measurable way. In fact, the use of RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ has less impact on internal aircraft temperature than a single kink in the delivery duct.

 How does it work?

A 4.5 in. (114 mm) wire reinforced duct is attached to the main supply line via an access point near the reducer. This connection utilizes a closeable Velcro® joint. When closed, it is used like a standard reducer. The reducer and access port are located at the end of an 8 in. (203 mm) FlexLink. The length of FlexLink can vary to meet specific operational needs. The purpose of the FlexLink is to bring the reducer and RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ port to the ground, where the connection is easier to work with, eliminating the extra load that is lifted to the aircraft connection port.

A cool unit, is a complete unit.

The RAMPTECH® CargoCool™ unit will consist of two or three parts: a reducer, a length of PCA ducting, and an optional piece of FlexLink. Below, you will see available sets and parts, including a recommended adaptor and some alternate PCA length options. Call Sage for any lengths or parts not shown here.
